Terms of Use
Use of communityhousing.duke.edu and the Duke Community Housing office constitutes the user's acknowledgment and agreement that such use is entirely voluntary, and that Duke Community Housing assumes no liability from damages arising from the use of its web site or office.

While Duke Community Housing strives to provide useful and up-to-date information, the user understands that content on communityhousing.duke.edu is "as is" and is not warranted to be error-free.

Advertising Rental Property
Advertising services provided by Duke Community Housing are free to Duke University students, University affiliates, property owners, and managing agents. Duke Community Housing does not endorse any landlord, management company, or individual who advertises through the office. Duke Community Housing provides a resource for the University community to seek out available rental housing in the Durham area.

Duke Community Housing reserves the right to refuse ads
If Community Housing staff receives a series of tenant complaints about a rental property or landlord, they can refuse ads for specific addresses or landlord. Depending on the situation, ads may be inactivated temporarily or indefinitely. Duke Community Housing does not guarantee the rental housing in the database, but also does not knowingly want to put anyone in a situation that may deter them from their academic pursuits.

Guarantee of Rental Property
Duke Community Housing does not guarantee and disclaims any responsibility for problems which may arise with regard to listed properties or rental units or with regard to disputes between landlords and tenants concerning listed properties or rental units. Students and affiliates of Duke University are under no obligation to use services provided by Duke Community Housing or to rent from companies or individuals who list with Duke Community Housing.

Duke Community Housing Staff
Duke Community Housing and its representatives do not negotiate directly with landlords/managers on behalf of prospective tenants nor do they make rental reservations. Duke Community Housing assumes no responsibility in connection with the rental agreement and recommends that any agreement between the tenant and landlord be put in writing.

Ads submitted to Duke Community Housing are accepted in accordance with applicable University, city, state, and federal statutes and regulations governing equal opportunity and nondiscriminatory access to housing. Duke Community Housing will not knowingly accept any listing that appears to violate these statutes and regulations.

List Rental - Landlord Application Screen
The following data is collected to link contact information with the landlord's property listed in the database: company name, first name, last name, phone, e-mail, web site. Additional information is collected for administrative purposes only.
